The Dental Council of India has announced the NEET common examination for the MDS course all over India, and it is going to be conducted by the AIIMS, All India Institute of Medical Sciences. The common entrance exam would be for the academic year of 2013-14, and there would be just a single common entrance test for all applicants in India.
Eligibility criteria for admissions through NEET 2013-14 examination:
General category – Should get a minimum of 50 percent marks
SC, ST and other backward tribes – Should get a minimum of 40 percent marks
Physically disabled candidates – Should get a minimum of 45 percent marks
Dates for the NEET PG MDS exam:
Not yet announced
Commencement of Admissions and MDS Classes
According to the notification, the classes for the postgraduate courses should begin by 2nd May and all admission procedure should end before 2nd may.
There is no other criteria to be considered except the marks list according to the merit, and based on the highest marks secured there would be admissions available both in state and national quota.
State wise Rank : 50% of total seats in that state
If you are from Maharashtra, there would be a list prepared separately for the students in Maharashtra, and half of the seats in the state would be given according to that list. Remaining 50% of the seats will be filled from the national merit list. i.e. if you are from Maharashtra and couldn’t get a seat through the 50% state wise rank list, you could still be eligible to get a seat in other states through the remaining 50% national merit list.
This is just the revised notification from the previous years, and there is no special notification still released for the MDS PG Entrance Exam through the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test.
