November 14th, is a day with some good names for itself, couple of them being the Childrens Day and World Diabetes Day.
World Diabetes day is specifically recognized for awareness and campaigns related to diabetes and its control in communities. And every term or couple of years, the theme for this day changes for some age groups or a category of people.
The theme for 2007 and 2008 is Diabetes in Children and Adolescents. Diabetes is one of the most common chronic diseases to affect children. It can strike children of any age, even toddlers and babies. If not detected early enough in a child, the disease can be fatal or result in serious brain damage. Yet diabetes in a child is often completely overlooked: it is often misdiagnosed as the flu or it is not diagnosed at all.
World Diabetes Day is celebrated with accordance to birthday of Frederick Banting who, along with Charles Best, first conceived the idea which led to the discovery of insulin in 1922.
Be aware about the disease and keep learning how to keep away from it, and in what way you can teach the people in your family and the community about it.

Hi I appreciated your post. I think that it is necessary when discussing diabetes to at least refer to natural remedies that have been shown to be effective in controlling high blood sugar. Various natural herbs can be including in a diabetics regimen that will help maintain a wholesome glucose level.
